Don't blowdry your hair after you wash it; that gives it split ends %26amp; makes it frizzy. Split ends because it burns your hair %26amp; it makes it frizzy because your hair usually stays in the way that it dries in.REALLY frizzy/curly hair HELP!!!?
First go to the Hair salon, get your split ends cut off and repaired. Wash your hair, rinse out shampoo then use more and rinse again, use conditioner making sure its totally al out. When you get out of the shower NO mousse or leave in conditioner. Blow dry your hair with a brush and defuser (aka pointy ting at top of blow dryer) and a barrel brush (round one) like they do at beauty salons or have somebody else do that for you. Then go to CVS and get the cute little got2b bottle that is pink and has charms hanging off of it and soften your hair, straighten it because beleive it or not its healthy for your hair unless you hold it there too long. Also use hair streightening serum.
I have curly hair and hated it until I became a hair dresser. I know its costly but let me tell you that your shampoo and conditioner have the biggest impact on your hair. You cant use anything like pantene or aussy or whatever on your hair its not going to work out USE PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS and dont expect it to work over night. I shampoo my hair every three days and its not gross its actually good the more you shampoo the more it drys it out. before you put your conditioner in your hair towel dry it the more water your hair has absorbed the less cond. it will absorbe. Ok shampooing out of the way, use a leave in cond. or serum then a gel cream not gel that will get too crunchy, get a light gel that is wattery then diffuse it, and when it is almost dry spray a little hair spray then difuse it the rest of the way. you will have to play with it to make it work but I only straighten my hair once every three months and I work in a salon and get complements on mine every day dont expect it to work right away it will take time esp. since your hair is so used to going straight good luck.
I totally know your problem.. I have the same hairtype.
If you want your hair permanently straight, try perming it. Don't straighten it like that. Otherwise, and this is what I do and my hair is still really healthy, use a shampoo like Infusium 23 and the blow-dry your hair straight...no straightener. It gives your hair lots of volume and it looks great !
When you want to leave your hair curly, which I suggest you do sometimes, just leave it. Side bangs and curly hair DO look good together, I assure you. Wash your hair at night and go to bed with your hair semi-dry still in a towel. When you wake up, your hair should still be a little damp. Then, just run some mousse through your hair and you're good to go :)
Wendy is wrong if you are black which you are probably not because of your avitar but black people or people with coarse or really really curly hair should blow dry hair because it combs it out and if you let it air dry it will probably be tangled, so don't listen to him/her because blow drying your hair isn't that bad in every case...just had to mention that!
There are a lot of serums you could use. Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum works very well. With extra curly hair, you should use about 3 pumps. Also headbands look nice with curly hair because you don't have to worry about it being to ';big'; (it looks good like that) and it'll stay out of your face.
hope this helps :]
You should try reading the book ';Curly Girl'; Lorraine Massey and Deborah Chiel. It tells all about dealing with frizzy, troublesome hair. Two of my sisters have done it for over 2 years now and it's worked wonders with their used-to-be frizzy hair!
