CURLY HAIR HELP!!!!!!!!?

I have curly hair and i have to wash it every morning as i can't wash it at night as it gets all messed up and into knots. So i HAVE to wash it very morning and it goes fizzy if i just let it dry. I don't have time in the morning to either straighten or curl or blow dry my hair. I am allergic to alcohol which is in most chemical products. So does anyone one have any hair tips or know any creams i can put on my hair to make it look nice and fizz less.CURLY HAIR HELP!!!!!!!!?
You can try all sorts of anti-frizz stuff. My hair is curly as well. You should try biosilk, olive oil glossing polisher or 9-1-1. None of these will oil your hair too much.CURLY HAIR HELP!!!!!!!!?
Here are some frizz tips for you!

* A good haircut is key (find an expert here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

* Sleep on a satin pillowcase

* Don't shampoo every day

* Comb conditioner through hair in the shower

* Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber instead

* Air dry or use a diffuser

* Use styling products suited for your hair type (http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

* NEVER use a brush

* Don't touch your hair

* A pomade is great for mid-day touchups

* Apply styling products to dripping wet hair

Check out http://www.naturallycurly.com for lots of great info about curly, wavy, kinky and textured hair!
you're the third person on this site that I have recommended this to, but get Proclaim Glossing Polish. It is the BEST product I have ever used (and i have done all sorts of crap to my hair) it makes it look silky and it doesnt make it fall flat. You can get it at Sally's if you have one of those near you. Or you can look at other Beauty supply stores. I just know sally's has it, thats where i buy it. oh yeah and it smells soooo good and it doesn't have alcohol.
I have the same problem and have to wash my hair everyday. Have you tried the Baybliss Beliss straightening hair dryer? It straightens and dries at the same time so wouldn't take quite so long.

I like using Aussie products-the 3 minute miracle frizz remedy sachet is good and only 97p from boots.

ORGANICS :)
So strong leave in conditioner will help get rid of the frizz and detangle and it is alcohol free. I swear by it.

What can I do to get rid of my permanent curly hair, HELP?

Last year in May I got my hair chemical curly. It was great the first few days, but now is a disaster. I can't do anything with it anymore. So I just keep my hair in a pony tail now. My hair has always been straight, wavy and thick, but it got thicker until I got it permanent curly. Back in the day It wasn't even that bad when I leave it down. Though I did use to dye my hair a lot as well. Now is just big and wavy and thick. It makes my whole head big with all that hair. Also every time I take a shower it makes it curly, but once it's dry I comb it and put ';Proclaim Professional Care Glossing Polish'; honestly it doesn't do much to my hair because it's still stays the same.

Also I been thinking about cutting my hair short since it's long now (it's like near my shoulders). I was hoping to stay like this because I want my hair to grow longer, but not anymore. So I just want to get rid of half of the damage I have. Especially when I have bad split ends and all. So I really need help! and some suggestions. All I want is to go back to my natural hair and not only that my real hair color, like I use to have it. :(What can I do to get rid of my permanent curly hair, HELP?
mmmm my tip is washing your hair a lot you may not see a difference in your hair for a while like you sed but whenever i wash my hair it grows.

you can also ask the hair dresses what you can do about it, or if your really desperate chemically straight your hair and i'm pretty sure if you was your hair a lot the hair colour mite even come out. i heard theres this special machine to get rid of hair dye but its really reallly really painful it like pulls your hair.

p.s only shampoo your hair twice a week same with conditioner dont shampoo and condition your hair everytime you have a shower coz it'll just make the curls worse. What can I do to get rid of my permanent curly hair, HELP?
You can get a chemical straightening done to your hair to rid your head of the curls longterm rather than resorting to a straightening iron daily. For the hair color dillema, you can also get a hair dye stripper, but beware this can strip the natural color out of your hair if not careful. Personally, I would consult a hair dresser as I believe they would know best.
Japanese hair straightening is the best chioce for u

. i have very thick and curly hair and it got much more manageable , soft , silky and healthy after the straightening. but no matter what- make sure you are going to a professional who knows what they are doing! make sure to meet with other people that got it done with him/ her/ the salon. getting referrals for this will be your best bet.
i will re answer this question after you post pictures =]
either cut it of and get extensions or go to a hairdresser and she wait they have to say

I have Ethnic Mixed, Thick, Curly Hair. Help Please?

Well I'm mixed with black and white. My hair is suuuuuuuuuper thick. It's weird though because it has tight curls at the roots and loose curls everywhere else. I've tried almost everything for my hair. From professional hair products, to home remedies, to grease and oils.

Whenever I try and straighten my hair it usually frizzes up a bunch the next day. I'm constantly having to lay it down with my hand. It also looks dry and is not that shiny. People tell me my hair has the potential to be beautiful. I just have to find a treatment to make it that way.

So, If anyone has ANY products or ideas of what I could do with my hair, that'd be great. Thanks in advance!:]I have Ethnic Mixed, Thick, Curly Hair. Help Please?
I also have curly hair but its not that tight and curly but my mother has MASSIVE curly thick hair , its indescribable . the products we use are professional , there a bit expensive but it really changes your hair the product is called REDKEN . They have one for really curly hair its called fresh curls , but if you want to straighten it , they have shampoo and conditioner called smooth down , it keeps your hair controlled and i suggest to bring a Portable little starigther where ever you go to touch up your hair , i have one and im glad i bought it ! there small and cheap (: hope i helped .I have Ethnic Mixed, Thick, Curly Hair. Help Please?
I use biosilk silk therapy for my hair. It is like a silky oil that i put in my damp hair before i dry it. It keeps it really silky and hides all my frizzies from split ends and it doesnt make my hair oily (don't put it in your roots obviously). But you should also try to just get a product for curly hair and scrunch it into hair when it is wet and then embrace your curls!
well my hair is thick too ma.And i always straighten it.but thats not good because it breaks off your hair.if you go to school usually what i do is.wet my hair because its curly and put the gel in it then brush it.and leave it in a pony tail .also you could get it braided.
check this out darlin!

I would probably suggest hair cut to get rid of dead ends
Hi,

I have the same problem. My hair isn't like white peoples nor is it really like black peoples.

This first thing I want to tell you is that washing your hair will make it frizzy. I wash (shampoo) my hair only once a MONTH. (That doesn't mean I don't wet it or condition it.) I also only comb it when it's wet that's also when I add any hair products while its wet. My bet is your mother (like mine) is white and unfortunately my mom knew nothing about dealing with hair of color (mine is blond but it has many of the same characteristics of a ';fro'; i.e. kinky, frizzy, curly, dry etc.), as a kid it was awful trying to make it look ';normal'; the more I brushed, washed and fought the curls and frizz the worse they got.

Do yourself a favor and go to a black (all black) hair dresser and take every question you ever had about your hair to her. I promise it could be an enlightening experience! best wishes.

Blessings, Light %26amp; Love.

P.S. I love the ';Olive Oil'; products

or curl with a medium small curlerCurly Hair Help please!!!!!?
I have black curly hair that is a little curlier than that and to have it hold all day and not frizz I apply a medium/small amount of mouse specifically for curly hair which will help the curl hold and not weight down your hair. Then you can apply a tiny bit of gel, or even better Infusium 23 and Biosilk. Good luck :]
I wish i knew!

Her hair looks amazing!!

I hope you find out, sorryy i'm not good help.

Take small sections and loosely curl with an inch wide curling iron with a spiral around it. afterwards mist with a wave spray like Frederic Fekkai Wave Creating Spray (or salt water works just as well). and run your fingers through your hair shaking out the curls into waves. Hope this helps, i do this and it looks nice : )

I have medium length, dark blonde, thinish, straight hair, and i really want it to be curly. I have spent a fortune on rollers, mouses and sprays, but not many work. Im rubbish at using hair curlers, so has anyone got any tips? I dont have much money to spend on designer stuff.Curly hair help?

    or try http://www.hairquestions.comCurly hair help?
first wash ur hair with hot water and then curl ur hair with curlers.
you can use hair straighteners to curl you hair. heres a step by step guide on how to :

    1) grab a picece of hair

    2) place the straightener just below your roots

    3) slide the straightener down your hair, but as you do, curl it

    Curly Hair Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

My hair is twisty curly, and REALLY frizzy. What are some products that you can use after you shower to make it less frizzy. I don't like washing my hair everyday, because it yets dry and is bad for your scalp. I don't want a cruncy, wet look, so no gels. It should look natural, and moveable, and look like that for two-three days.

What are some good Conditionars? I use Garnair Fruticus. Its ok, but i think its making my hair fall out a lot.

What are some cute hairstyles, and how do you do them? (Post pics, please)

Whats the best type of haircut? Should i get layers? Side-bangs?

I can't make a messy bun without it being a rolled up and bouncy, so it looks really weird. How do you make one?

Ok I have this problem too so what I do is I wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner. Then after I get out of the shower I put in A serum to prevent my hair from frizzing ( paul Mitchell's is the best)

then after I put that in I put in AG's recoil and it works amazingly. you only need a dime size amount and just run it through your hair with your fingers. As for a type of conditioner I recommend Marc Anthony's strictly curls it work awesome.

I would try a mouse or a cream instead of a gel then. I really like gel, but that's just me. I find I can scrunch out any crunch or hard texture with my hands once my hair is dry, so you could try that too. Also to decrease the hardness of gel try using a leave-in conditioner (or just a littler more of your normal conditioner) underneath the gel.

MY GOD! Were we seperated at birth?

When you take a shower, comb the shampoo in, rinse, then comb the conditioner in, rinse. When you do that, just wrap it up into a towel(Don't mess it up or anything! That compleatly throws off your curls), just wring your hair out, then flip your head over %26amp; wrap a towel around it. After its been there for about an hour, take the towel out of your hair %26amp; let it air dry. Don't even brush it when it gets dry.

Glad I could helpCurly hair help?
You might want to try using a product, such as tresseme shine spray or vive pro shampoo and conditioner. These products and easy one step solutions to your problem. You jsut spray it in while ur hair is still wet and shake it around or comb through it to distribute it evenly. Ive found that this works the best, bc it is one step and one product! Hope that helped!
don't EVER comb out curly hair when its dry because you loose the curl pattern!!!!! then it gets poofy and puffy. try spraying some shine spray in your hair. you can go to a local drugstore like walgreens, cvs, or rite aid and pick some up. any brand will do.

you can also go on naturallycurly.com its a great website and gelped me a lot!!

Good luck %26amp; God Bless :)
I ran across this website a while back. Haven't tried it, but the theory looks sound. You can find more about it by searching the web on ';no shampoo routine'; or ';no poo routine';.

make sure you cut your hair short!!!!

take a shower twice a day with a really god shampoo.

    use conditioners

use Straigtning cream from Loreal Paris.

Go to beauty parlors once in a while.

Be ready to spend $1000 a month on you r hair

    good luck :)
yea, that same exact thiing happens to me... i would say dont get layers in your hair, cut it straight and use leave in conditioners, curling shampoos and conditioners and i use treseme anti friz serum.
Frizz-ease shine serum, works a treat for me.

    Also leave-in conditioners
i wud suggest that after each time you wash it towel dry it and then use frizzease drem curls spray and scrunch and curl ur hair doi not brush it after appling the spray
a product called Frizz Ease. it comes in shampoo, conditioner and aftercare products! good luck XX

    Curly HAIR HELP!?!?

I have REALLY tightly coiled curly hair and it tends to frizz, I have tryed using practically EVERY product out their but none of them gives my hair definition.. and by that i mean ';defines the curls';... the only way to define the curls on my hair is when its wet and I put gell on it.. but that damages my hair and so i dont anymore... my friend told me about this product called ';curly pudding'; from miss jessie.. (here is the link) http://www.canadianbeauty.com/2008/04/mi I havent tryed it yet or ordered it ... but I was thinking of.. im from canada though and its REALLY expensincive.. for the shipping order and stuff.. so i was wondering.. does anyone know of any off the counter products that would do the same as the ';curly Pudding does';?

and for those of you who dont know the curly putting is suppose to define and strech out your curls..

    I need REAL help!

and this is KARRY not kesha!Curly HAIR HELP!?!?
My hair is very similar, Kar'. Here's the deal:

Because my hair is a little longer than shoulder length, when it's in its natural state of wavy-curly, I use two products to keep it from being so dry.

One thing I use is called a ';cholesterol conditioner'; as a HAIR cream. It's actually good conditioner after a shampoo as well, but I use it as a styling cream. I like the Le Claire brand, but this one works well, too.

    ]]]]]]]]%26gt; http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j

Also, I like to use Aveda Brilliant Humectant Pomade. You can only buy it at hair salons but it's great.

    ]]]]]]]%26gt; http://www.aveda.com/templates/products2

Before I apply my products, I like to spritz my hair with a little water so that it doesn't tangle when I comb through it. Then, I apply the product. Then I use a brush. A good boar/nylon bristle brush is good. I prefer a medium width to the bristle tufts as opposed to the really condensed brushes. The medium brush causes the hair to smooth together well, but also allows your hair to separate a bit as you ';finger'; some sections apart.

I must say that, given my hair type, I've had to incorporate using a relaxer to manage my hair at this length. I鈥檝e gone from relaxing my hair once a year, to twice a year, to every three months now because of the length. The longer it's gotten, the more it breaks and becomes tangled to the point of tearing it as you comb to the end of the strands. Consider relaxing it if you don't use those types of products. I use a very mild relaxer that works wonders from Vitale

    ]]]]]]%26gt; http://vitalepro.com/index.htm

Check with your beauty supply center for Vitale Sensitive Relaxer. They should have it.

If you elect to get it done at a salon, tell the operator that you want a mild relaxer and she will know the type of product to use as well as the amount of time needed to comb the product through to gain the desired result. I recommend maintaining some curl because, again, you could always blow dry it for a straight-straight look.

In ANY case, I recommend Nexxus Products. While, for some time, you could only buy Nexxus in a salon, now you can purchase them at other stores as well.

I recommend Botanoil or Therappe shampoo, with Humectress as a conditioner for most times and KerapHix periodically, especially when your hair gets super dry. For the record, that鈥檚 how this stuff is spelled and not a typo. Here鈥檚 the site. Go to the site map and then look for shampoo, conditioners, etc.:

Try LoReal's studio line, it inexpensive and you should be able to get it at any drug store. What's good about it is...that it holds your curls without that weight or crispy feeling. I loved it, because I have thick curly hair and the bottom of my curs would come loose. But that just kept it all together, hope that helps!

I have shoulder length naturally curly hair.. its really thick and some of the curls are big some some are small but my hair just tends to get poofy, and i've tried using gel but even if i get it to be stiff it always looses hold in the back. Whenever i try and dry my hair with a diffuser it seems to lose definition and get frizzier even if i direct all the air down. I can never get it really straight either, i try a straightning iron and i cant seem to get some curls out. I dont mind it curly but how can i get it to either have nice curls or waves and be soft and tame?Curly hair help?
I am a haidresser. I have curly hair but also have it straight. The best products on the market is TIGI catwalk 'curls rock' for curly or TIGI 'control freak' for straight. Both come in 4 products. Best results if you use all 4. You have shampoo, con, then 2 styling products. With curls best ting to do is wash put on product and leave to dry naturally.Curly hair help?
try a curl definer and if you want to straighten it use serum or something. try frizz esse that dead good.
I have curly hair too - I use a product while it's still damp and then LEAVE IT ALONE. When it dries it will be curly. Try Paul Mitchell Lite Styling Creme.

    ThanksCurly hair help please?
Focus most of your shampoo on the roots and scalp, and focus most of your conditioner on the ends. I use Matrix Sleek.Look Smoothing Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner and it helps to smooth down my hair and make it less frizzy. I got a deal of two 1-liter bottles for $30 from Beauty First, and it lasted me almost a year since it's more concentrated than drugstore shampoo and conditioners. Comb your hair using a wide-toothed comb after you have applied conditioner in the shower. Get all the tangles out then. Then rinse the conditioner out. Towel dry your hair gently, getting all the water out. Pat dry, do not rub. Don't use any styling products with alcohol. Using a lotion or balm is better than gel and definitely mousse. I use Artec TextureLine Hair Mix evenly throughout my hair - it's a lotion type of mixture that smooths the hair. I put extra on the ends. Then I use Enjoy Shaping Lotion to scrunch it. A little goes a long way, and the hold is more amazing than anything I've ever used at the drugstore. It makes your hair feel soft and there's no buildup. Don't ever brush your hair while it's scrunched, and comb your hair only while it's wet.Curly hair help please?
i suggest maybe straightening it for a change? get some layers, highlights, maybe even a different hair color? try flat ironing it, and see how it looks. if u like it, then u can flat iron it weekly or get it permanantly straight with a relaxer formula at the salon.
Wash and condition. Comb out (start at the ends). Add a light spray gel or a styling serum. Comb through. Part hair. Head bang. Scrunch near roots a few times. Drive to work with the windows open. Your hair will dry on the way. If you think of it, give the roots a little squeeze now and then. But don't worry about it too much.
I have the hair too.... what I do is I put in a Curling spray (even though we don't need it) or a leave in conditioner. This makes the hair smooth and the curls feel softer. Try letting it dry on it's own and see what happens. If you prefer to blow dry your hair first use big hair curlers and dry under the hair dryer with a leave in conditioner on. It looks and feels nice afterwards! Hope this helps ;)

Pull it up in a hair tie or a hair clup with some of the nice curls down .... looks really nice :)
I like that hair the way it is!

    It's VERY pretty!
let it flow naturally, it works for me.
I would do a messy bun parted in the middle (or side) with a few pieces framing your face... that would be gorgeous!
When you get out of the shower in the morning put some gel or mousse and defrizzer in it while it's still damp. And let it curl naturally. Don't blow dry it! Wake up a little earlier if it takes a while to dry. Remember to part it to the left side. And then put a bobby pin down on your right bangs and pull it to the side.

    Instant classic! :) Good luck!

    okay

shampoo and condition ur hair with volume shampoo (herbal essences)

    apply mousse

    blowdry with a round brush

lucky for u, u do NOT use a curling iron

    but hot rollers.

Finger through hair but do NOT brush

    Apply hairspray

P.S. This may not work to well for naturally straight hair. If you have slightly wavy hair it should do ok.

    Curly Hair Help!!!!!?

I have extremely curly hair, and i straighten it every day which is real tiring, is there anything i can to do to make it less frizzy and straight?Curly Hair Help!!!!!?
i know exactly what you mean, my hair is very very very curly and used to get frizzy after seconds, but what i do now is, i shower and as soon as i get out, i brush my hair still wet and then bend my head down so my hair is hanging in front of me completely. then i use dep gel, the light blue one and i scrunch it up into my hair, then i spray it with a little hairspray, then i take the blow drier with a diffuser on and blow dry my hair till its just about dry, and it comes out great :DCurly Hair Help!!!!!?
I also have crazy frizzy, curly hair, and I live in a part of Texas where the humidity is insane. I used to straighten my hair, but it is just not worth the effort.

My suggestion is stop straightening it so much, it is bad for your hair. Start growing it out if it's short. Get layers put in to shape it. Be careful who you go to. A lot of hairdressers are not very experienced working with curly hair, so call around. They'll usually be pretty frank about it if asked. I've had several tell me they prefer not to cut curly hair. I appreciate the honesty.

Finally use a leave-in conditioner (I use ION swimmers leave-in) and then a spray gel. I've tried them all from the really expensive to the really cheap and my favorite by far is Pantene's spray gel in the white and red bottle.

This way your hair really only takes 5- 10 minutes to fix as opposed to 2-3 hours.
i have curly hair, and i totally get where you're coming from, but once you get control of curly hair, you can learn to love it. here's what i do:

    1. wash my hair with sunsilk captivating curls shampoo

    2. condition with sunsilk captivating curls conditioner (put in hair, wait 30 seconds, then wash out.

    3. when i get out of the shower, i flip my hair upside down (make sure not to skip this; it is what prevents your hair fom getting crunchy), then work VO5 extreme style curling mousse into my hair (while it is still upside down) and let it air dry.

this may sound weird, but doing this right before you go to bed gives you full, bouncy curls.
well if you want it permanently straight, you can get a permanent press at the salon.

of course, you will hafta go back to get it done every once in a while.

but if you just want it under control, you can either go with a moose (but it kinda makes your hair all crunchy and hard) or you can go with a mixture of straightening creme and de-friz creme.
i have the exact same problem so i went to the salon to help with my hair and she but like a 1/4 cup of beverly hills brand straitening product. it is still curly but its not poofy at all and it doesn't make my hair feel stiff either
What you can do is wash you hair for a really long time and then do not dry it. Straight after straighten it. That way it will be less tireing. Mianly because you just have to straighten it like 3 times and that is it
instead of straightning it try scrunching it with gel when your hair is wet i find it looks great..for me at least here the best curly hair website

    www.naturallycurly.com
Go to a hair saloon and they can chemically straighten it. Just make sure it's not a bad place or they could mess up you hair.
Embrace the curl just put in some defining cream stuff and you're good!
get your hair relaxed at a good salon.

if it's at a cheap salon they can really screw up your hair.

    :)
Maybe some John Friedas Frizz-Ease serum in extra strength.

  • Curly hair help?!?

i am mixed with African-American and Caucasian. I have very curly hair, and when i get out of the water my hair tends to get poofy, does anyone have any styles i can do with my hair that look cute?

my hair is down to my shoulders if that helps any.

thanks for your time : )Curly hair help?!?
ummm...theres loads you can do, and it helps to put a little syrem in 1st.

heres a site for you to check out!

    www.naturallycurly.com

    or..

    1. Condition your hair, massaging your scalp to get rid of build-up and excess oil. Shampoo your hair every other day, or best; only two days in a week. (shampooing every day dries out your hair)

    2. Comb hair in shower while conditioner is still in. Never towel dry hair. Instead, air dry or diffuse.

    3. Pour a dollop of liquid straightening serum and a smaller dollop of glossing serum into your hand and mix them together.

    4. Apply the straightening-glossing serum mixture to sections of your hair. Twist each section around your fingers, hold for a few seconds, then release. Do this all over your head.

    5. Turn your head down. Dry your hair with a blow-dryer with a diffuser attachment until your hair is completely dry.

    6. Spray hair lightly with an anti-frizz spray.

    7. Or... You can be sure to condition your hair thoroughly in the shower, combing through it with you fingers (not a comb). When you get out of the shower, put some leave-in conditioner or curl cream in it, followed by gel (don't worry, your hair will absorb a lot and prevent frizz--it won't get crusty unless you overload on the gel). Let air dry.

..and style howerver u choose.Curly hair help?!?
my hair is simular to yours, although I am strictly Caucasian. What i do, is i use fruictis moisterizing shampoo, then moisteriz conditioner, and i blowdry it straight and then straighten it out with the flat iron. also, you can try to put oolive iol in it and leave it in for an hour then wash your hair with my suggested shampoo and conditioner.it makes my hair silky, smooth and slippery. and for caucasian, my hair is soft, but curly, unruley and fuzzy. it is the softest when i do what i suggested. so buy a straightener and a blowdryer, and don't heat style it every day, as it can severy damage your hair and dry it out and make it 3 times worse.
you can do something called twisting, if you go to an african american hairsalon they can do it, and it shouldnt be too expensive

it will look nicest if your hair is very thick, if it isnt, they can always use a bit of hair extension in with it

    hope that helps

    x
I would suggest you to put gel in your hair when it's wet and then alittle hair spray and then yes blow dry it and it will look really curly but at the same time you wont have frizzy hair and it will look like you have your hair under control instead of your hair having control over you.

    Curly hair Help????!!?

so as the question says i have curly hair, for 6-7 months ive been taking care it, not washing it everyday only every 2-3 days. and i was wondering some things.

is it good to brush your while your in shower?

is blow drying your curly hair if you have the time a good thing?

Oil Treatment how they work? what do u ahve to do? and how many times a month/week do you have to do it?

    Thank you! :DCurly hair Help????!!?
well i have curly hair too and i do brush my hair when im conditioning it. brushing it helps spread the conditioner through out your whole head. well you can blow dry it once in a while but i wouldnt say its good because the heat damages your hair. i personally dont blow dry it because it makes my hair frizzy. and ive never done an oil treatment so i cant help you with the last 2 questions. hope i helped

    Curly Hair, Help!?

My daughter has blonde curly hair. She is 2 and it is hard to get her to sit still to fix it. My hair is straight, so I have never dealt with curly hair. How can I keep it from looking like she has a huge cottonball on her head?Curly Hair, Help!?
She needs lots of conditioner and a wide tooth comb. If your little one cant use adult conditioners try Johnson's baby detangling conditioner. its wonderful and smells lovely. They also sell a Johnson's baby detangling shampoo too. Its meant for little ones with curls. I use it on my hair and its great :)Curly Hair, Help!?
I too have really curly hair. Here are things I have learned over the years...

Don't brush it when wet, it is bad for the curl.

Lots of leave in conditioner, every day if possible.

Only shampoo it once a week, it takes out the oils that keeps curls neat.

There is a product called noodle head, it's a creamy product. Just a bit of it will keep her hair neat.

Try and let her hair fall naturally, use headbands or clips and don't pull the hair tight (this is not comfortable, trust me).

Use a wide tooth comb after using the leave in conditioner, not a hair brush.

    Good luck!
I am mixxed and i have curly hair and it is so hard to find something that works but i fpund a brand that works. Its called catwalk curl amplifier it is about $13.00 sold at salons or i found it at giant
don't worry i too has curly hairs it's natural we cannot do any thing

    Curly Hair Help?

I have wavy/ curly hair and i twant to cuz it short (like sholder length) and layerd, will it compleatl ruin it? also what should i tell my sylist...i am 13 yrs old..Curly Hair Help?
I cut mine from waist length to my shoulders when I was 15, biiig change but good change! I got it with a side parting and side bangs (which I blow dry and straighten but that's really easy). I've had it toooo short a couple of times, I recommend getting it cut to your collar bone length so that when it springs up it's the length you want?

(Tried to find you a picture of my hair that length but couldn't, sorry!)

Good luck with it :)Curly Hair Help?
I have curly hair, at shoulder length it is fine but if ur worried ask ur stylist. If ur hair is only wavy-curly not really curly u shud b fine.
hey i have the same problem as you, if you find anything could you please tell me?? thanks!!
i recomend that you go to a sylist who has worked with curly hair

my sister has curly hair, and she got it cut like you are describing it and it turned it really cute!

but shoulder length is pretty short for curly hair, make sure you want short hair
that depends of if your hair is dry or damaged. my sister had curly hair and when she cut it short, it was silky, straight and shiny. her hair just wasn't mean to be long. me, on the other hand, if i was to cut my curly dry hair short, it would just poof and i'd have triangle hair. lol!

    Curly Hair Help??

I have naturally curly hair that is kinda frizzy. i used to get relaxers to straighten it out, but i want to start wearing it natural, but i need to find something that will define my curls but not make them hard but more soft and flowy, i dont really want super tight ringlets, but something softer. Does anybody know what i can do to my hair and what i can put in it to make it look fabulous?!?!Curly Hair Help??
Once I hit puberty my hair went to kinky curly and was so frizzy. I tried using everything the way i got my hair to be less curly was by using a straightening balm and then so it wouldnt go frizzy or anything i use BB Oil Moisturizer with Castor Oil

you can buy it at walgreens or walmart or anyother place like that

to purchase i recommend this website..

    http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100235%26amp;navAction=jump%26amp;navCount=0%26amp;id=prod8469

something else that also works well is the SunSilk for curls their 24/7 creamCurly Hair Help??
Try Prive Detailing Pommade. It should help with the frizzies and give you the soft curl you desire. It is sold at most professional salons.
    definitely use gel and mousse

    so it doesn't frizz

i have hair like you and i use it to calm it
I have super curly hair, i use this pantene curl defining comb in treatment, it leaves your curls so nice and soft but really defined, doesn't even look like you have any product in your hair

Love your curls! My hairdresser told me curls are coming back BIG so be happy!!
BEING A HAIRSTYLIST MYSELF, GET MATRIX SMOOTHING LINE. U WILL LOVE IT
you could use that Sun silk hair-a-peee Trust me i have cruly hair too it works
    I too live with natural curly hair (I am 57). The styles are not always too our advantage, Depending on what style you want;

Wash hand fluff let dry, do not brush you may pick for extra lift before it completely dries, put on a soft control gel.

You can also try using a curling iron to achieve a looser curl' then hand fluff to separate the curls (so you won't have ringlets) then use a soft control gel or spray.

If you get caught in rainy, or humid weather your sunk anyway, the hair will curl tight. I haven't found a relaxer or anything that helps. I have gone to several salons and beauty schools the results are the same, first sign of moisture curl is as tight as ever. GOOD LUCK with your hair.
frizz ease serum to keep it from frizzing. There is some curling spray gell stuff you can get that keeps it curly without over drying or making it crunchy!
Use leave in conditioner and even though your hair is curly, for a soft curl look, scrunch your hair and don't blow dry it, (that will make it frizzy)
totally twisted herbal essence works good but what is relaxers for your hair

    Curly hair. HELP!?

I have super curly hair and i dont want to damage it how should i fix it.Curly hair. HELP!?
I have super curly hair too. I just have a cut that works well with it (although at one time i had it really long and that worked well too), and I use a really good ethnic hair product on it after I shampoo %26amp; condition. Then I let it air dry. Easy and non-damaging.Curly hair. HELP!?
My advice is to just straighten it. And use an iron tamer spray so you don't damage it when you straighten.

Or you could try using the spray called ';straight sexy hair'; and blowdry your hair after applying. But this spray doesn't work for everyone. It depends on how hard to manage your hair is.

But whatever you do, DON'T get your hair chemically straightened. It's the worst possible thing to do to your hair, and it will practically burn your hair off.

    CuRLY HAIR HELP?

My hair is quite curly almost tight curls.

I have bought the babyliss beliss the straightening hairdryer and was wondering if it was any good for curly hair.

Secondly how do I make it nice to wear down it always frizzes up I've tryed all mousses and I can't be arsed straightening it as it takes 3-4 hours please help cheers.xxxCuRLY HAIR HELP?
Well this isn't so easy to answer. It varied from texture to ethnic group. I have some curly hair and it is almost to my butt, it takes me the most 30 minutes to dry and straighten. You need a serum on it that will wiegh it down and you are not drying it all the way, that's why it frizzes. You need a nice round brush and some practice for starters. Then you could try a flat iron they do wonders for mine. But get the ceramic kind as they are more gentle on the hair.

But it really sounds like your not drying it all the way. The slightest bit of moisture left in it will cause the frizz. Good Luck.CuRLY HAIR HELP?
    brush it into an afro.
My hair is very curly too. I get my hair chemically relaxed. I also have to use an iron but it does not take even half of the time to do it now.
Straighten, flat iron, curl with a curler, and do your make up really well and you will look really good. Good luck!!

hi, well i have thick, notty naturally curly hair its hideous... well when i was really young it was gorgeous but now its just really notty and thick ..yuck!.. anyways, ive been wanting a hair style change and i mean a total change,,,ive always wanted short STRAIGHT hair but dont really wanna go thru the chemically straightening route and hair straighteners just damage my hair...at the moment my hair is straight-ish at the top all the way half way down my hair then it goes mad curly...its all notty thow...i was wondering as it is straightish at the top,,if i cut it short would it stay straight or just go back to a big bundle of natural curls !!!

jjust wondering as im planning to have it done and would like to know as soon as possible thanks=]Curly hair help!!!! please=]?
The shorter it is the curlier it will be. The weight of longer hair helps stretch out the curlCurly hair help!!!! please=]?
its just gunna be a big bundle of curls if you cut it. i just cut my hair up to a little past my shoulders and i have to straighten it or else it looks retarted. You could get your hair thinned so its not so overwhelming and itlll be easier to straighten if you want.
This isn't really answering your question but i saw this kit in boots where you like apply a cream to your hair and leave it for like half an hour and then i straightens your hair permanantly for a month or so. you might want to try it
    Your just like me!!!!!! :O!

Okay my hair was really long and curly/wavey i hated it (My ex said it looked good on me but w.e)

I had my hair layered and thinned out also cut to my shoulders.

Now i have straight hair yay (Even though i straighten it everyday)
it's probably straight on top b/c it's being weighed down by your thick hair. if you cut it i bet it will be a bit wavy, but much easier to make straight by using a straightening creme and a blowdryer.

you're best off talking to a stylist about it. good luck!
it depends on how long and thick. if you get it cut a couple of inches it will curl beautifully, too short it will be straight with a couple of curls popping in and out. i have really thick curly hair and i get it cut a couple of inches (2- 3 1/2)

    Curly hair help!?

Okay I want to straighten my hair out.....It doesn't have to be pin straight....i just want to get rid of the curls....wavy is fine....just noooooo curls or hoops whatever....and i have very curly hair. Any idea on how I can Straighten it out without relaxing, Ironing, Blow drying or anything like that? Maybe theres a certain way i should put up my hair before i sleep so that it comes out straighter in the morning? I used to have the emo/scene whatever you want to call it haircut because i had wavy-ish hair that would easily straighten out on its own...until i got a fag for a stylist that cut it all wrong and made it super curly. I miss my old hair style.....alot!.....can anyone help....I just want to naturally...%26lt;-- yes NATURALLY get rid of these stupid curls and atleast turn them into waves...

    the shampoo, conditioner %26amp; stylers.

if you dont use them A L L together theres

no point and its a waste of time.

    2~ how do i de~poof it?

3~ what are some good hairstyles for it?Curly hair help?
Well my hair is or was just like that. And i had the same problems and i put a texturizer in it and now it is not poofy and made the curls lighter so i can do alott with it now.

there is alot of things you can do to make your hair grow what i did was put deep conditioner in my hair and olive oil. or even if you braid it. that will help it grow.:)Curly hair help?
did u try biolage ultra hydrating balm for depoofing hair?

to grow it faster u have to do regular oil treatments[consistently],take a

good diet including good amount of proteins, also take a fish oil supplement regularly.

do deep conditioning treatments on a weekly basis.

go for pony tails on bad hair days %26amp; on other days put some good moisturizing products for curly hair [try CURLS products] %26amp; be dare to leave it open.

There are lots of products that are made for curly and frizzy hair stay away from blow drying and let it dry natural You might want to go to a professional and get some advice on if you want to use a straightener or what products work best on your hairCurly hair help!?
yes i had the same exact problem...what i did what went to the hair stylist and they told me i needed to get it layered and also get it thined...so that's what i did and now my hair looks great!!!!!!!!!! i always wear it down now! and thinning doesn't hurt...
I used to use a gel while my hair was wet, and then I made sure not to dry it with a hairdryer or mess with it with my hands too much, seemed to help alot.

The other answer is true too... I also had to have mine layered and thinned a little to help in controlling it.

    Good luck!
I don't like the Got2b brand but what I do love is Herbal Essence Totally Twsited! I have curly hair that use to be kinda poofy but I used that shampoo and conditioner. Now my hair is bouncy and shiney. It's not frizzy at all! I love it! =)

    Curly hair help?

how can u get light curls in ur over night with out rollers? also how to keep in from messing up in the morning or over night?Curly hair help?
i dont think you really can. unless you have really nice curls and gently put it into a loose bun at night; sometimes you wake up with only a bit of work to do.

but i just do my curls in the morning.Curly hair help?
Okay. If your hair is long.....

Wash hair. Twist in fingers and hold up to head, wrap into a bun. (while it is wet...) Sleep in it overnight, and take out in the morning! ( If your hair naturally curls, then it should not leave a rubber band line, if it is strait, this wont work.
rip up strips of sheets, and roll your hair in them and tie it! they hold really well, dnt hurt, and give really pretty curls!!!
My daughter hated to wear sponge rollers in her long hair - although that was the best way to get her golden curls. However, here is another way: with slightly damp hair, take a section and twist it. when you have it twisted tight - take the end of the twist up to the top. this will form a loop. take a pony tail holder - or a ribbon and tie it tight so that it will stay in during the night. This procedure will not make tight curls - especially in thick hair - however, it will create nice waves....hope this helps.
well if you sleep with loose braids in your hair.. like two big ones on the side, youll have light curls.. they'll be more like waves/kinks though

sometimes when i dry my hair i take big chunks and twist them up then hold the hair dryer over them one at a time(you have to do one at a time) and for a long time... i know thats not over night

then just put hairspray in your hair... or before when your hair is wet aafter your shower, BEFORE blow dry, put a little gel in your hair
what you can do is put your hair into a really tight pony tail in the back. and after you put the rubber band in you should put another one is a couple inches away from that. space out the rubber bands depending on how many curls you want. and by the morning you will get light curls. make sure the rubber bands wont knot your hair.

    Curly hair help?

I have crazaay curly hair. I straighten it and it still has way to much volume. Should I get it thinned or layered or both? Btw it's shoulder length and I have a side bang.Curly hair help?
When you get out of the shower use a leave in conditioner, (this will tone and weigh down your hair) then let dry with out a blow dryer-the hotter your hair is the more volume it adds, then i would use either a frizz ease or some type of shiner to weigh down your curls more....after its completely dry and everything is set in...straighten it. I dont think its a good idea to layer your hair this only adds more volume and creates the illusion of more hair.

and thinning is never good, try a A-Line hair cut, that will also eliminate more hair from the back (where is grows the most) giving it a less poofy look.Curly hair help?
Well.... I am the am the exact opposite of you!! I wish my hair was curly... but if you really want it to be straight then I think making it thinned would be a big help to straghing it!!!
you should get it layered... that would be cute鈽?

my BFFE 4 life (amanda) had really thick hair, she got it layered and it is really thin %26amp; cute!! u should try that, and use C.H.I. 44 iron guard. it is a spray that helps your hair stay straight and not be damaged by the straightener

    鈾c
    layered
Curly hair is amazing! Keep it curly!!!!!!!!!!!
Getting it thinned and layered is a good idea. I knew someone with hair just like yours, and she got it thinned and layered. Now it looks great, and doesn't look poofy and extremely full of volume anymore.
if ur hair is really poofy but curly and u dont care about the curls, relax it. if u %26lt;3 ur curls get it texturized. it keeps the curls but makes them easier to manage. layering doesnt work on poofy hair. it makes it poofier because u'll basically have chunks of poof all over ur head. i had the same prob and i got it texturized. if u wanna see how it looks let me know!
A have curly hair to. A great place to go for help is naturallycurly.com. It has helped me a lot in the past.

    Curly hair help?

Ok, so I have curly hair, and the only way I can ever get it to look good down is if i sleep in it wet, and then when i wake in the morning, a lot of times the curls look great. My problem is, they stay good for a couple hours, then it looks bad. what do i do about this?Curly hair help?
-Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

    - To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent. They dry out curly hair.

    - Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair. Then let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer with a diffuser.

    - I really like the garnier fructis sleek and shine leave in cream and Tressemme clean hold gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites. Frizz-ease hair serum is pretty good for fighting frizz.

    - Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!Curly hair help?
It would help to have a better description of your hair, such as how thick is it, how long , when was your last trim/cut, how often do you wash it and with what, and when you say it looks bad what is it specifically looks bad? Frizzy? Messy? flat?etc.

All that aside, i have naturally curly hair and it is cool at times and not so tame most. I feel for you sista, mine is the same, go to bed put it in braid, or bun, and wake up with soft gorgeous hair. 35 ys of fixing this wild head has taught me .

    - Use good products, all shampoo/conditioners ARE NOT equal!!!!!

-The best i've ever found is BIOSILK made by farouk There are a few different types in this line of products but none are as good as the first 3...

    1. Biosilk silk therapy

    2. Silk therapy shampoo

    3. Silk therapy conditioner

When using make sure u use very hot water with both shampoo and cond. they are activated by the heat , and u and i both know if you touch a hair dryer u might as well of stuck ur finger in a light socket cuz you'll get the same results.

Also when you use the conditioner add a very small amount of the silk therapy liquid silk to it . this adds shine and manageability.

you can also take a small bottle of water with you to spritz throughout the day

Brush your hair every night , 100 strokes, this eliminates breakage and split ends and will make your hair lay down nicer during the day when you cant brush it
Do you mess and play with your hair alot? Cause I have curly/ wavy hair and the less I touch it the better! The more I touch and fuss with it, the more frizzy and bushy it looks! My hair looks best when I brush it out before washing it, after I wash it I do not brush it, I put it up in a towel until all the excess water is out. I then take it out of the towel and shake my head upside down, flip hair over and make sure all the pieces are in the right place and let AIR DRY!
Try spritzing it with water and immediately put some mousse in your hair. You may want to flip your hair over when you do this--it'll have a little more volume that way.

    That should work.
i have really curly hair but to keep it that way without frizzing i have to do this..

when its wet i use any type of hair spray and i spray it on and scrunch my hair even though its already curly i scrunch and spray all over my hair and my hair stays pretty and curly all day long and doesnt get hard

So I have somewhat curly hair. My curls SUCK. They really dont curl in a pretty way their just sort of all over the place and are pretty uneven. My hair is also kind of short [when straightened only touches my shoulder slightly] so thats an issue too.

But I've been straightening my hair almost everyday for a year and its taken A LOT of damage and I'm afraid I'm loosing my hair so I need to give up the straightening.

But how can I style it curly? also my hair is short so ... should I get more layers?

Then, I use Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Curl Perfecting spray from the John Frieda Collection. It transforms your curls into beautiful spirals. As for shampoo, I would recommend Herbal Essences Totally Twisted curls and waves shampoo and conditioner. The layers should probably wait though. Good luck!Need to stop straightening my curly hair, help essentuating what I have?

    Curly hair help! Please!?

Hey I have very curly, frizzy and THICK hair. i love it straight but it takes 3 HOURS to straighten it. my question is how to get nice waves at the bottom! instead of my whole head being curly and poofy i want it straight at the top and wavyy at the ends. how do i do that taking less then an hour? thanks!Curly hair help! Please!?
I have very thick, curly and frizzy hair as well. The best thing that I found is a salon that understands curly hair. My hairdresser cuts my hair while it is dry and never makes a cut straight across the bottom of my hair. Instead, she carves into the curls and helps to thin them out while still maintaining the shape of the curl. Also, I have her relax my hair once every six months. There are different degrees of relaxers. The one that I use does not permanently straighten my hair (those relaxers can be very expensive!). Instead, this relaxer helps to calm the frizz and make it more manageable. I can wear my hair curly or straight and it behaves better in humid weather. The salon I go to is in a very small rural town, so the prices may be cheaper than in the city. However, I pay around $100 for a haircut and relaxer. Also, I like Alterna's Hemp Organics line. Their straightening balm works great on my hair. After my hair is relaxed, I use a dollop of the straightening balm (about the size of a quarter) and blow dry it straight. Then I touch it up with a straightening iron. It stays straight all day.Curly hair help! Please!?
next time your at a hair dresser or walmart get a bottle of redken hair straightening gel. its in a gray bottle with blue writing. you put it in your hair while it's still wet from the shower and then blow dry it. it works miricles!!!! it wont make it dead straight but it will make it really straight. if u want it dead straight then afterwards go over it with a straightner. but my hair is REALLY frizzy and it keeps it looking like i should be in a hair commercial!
it shoudlnt take u that long to straighten it- make sure ur using a good straightener

    Curly Hair Help?

I've got naturally curly blonde hair and it just seems to be in horrible condition.

I've been getting it trimed regularly, using high quality hair products, and stopped straightening/blowdrying.

Its good until I get to the bottom then its like completely dead/frizzy.

Not sure what to do next?Curly Hair Help?
I have naturally curly hair. Curly hair is naturally dry no matter who you are. I never use high end products becasue because I couldn't afford them. From what I'm also learing in my advertisement course is that most high end shampoo co. are just as good as shampoos that are like 99cents.

I normally shampoo my hair and leave in dry/freezy hair conditioner for about 3 minutes. I usually try to focus more on the tips. I get them trimmed every couple of months. I now blow try my hair straight and go over it with a straighner because I got tired of my curly hair. My hair seems to be pretty healthy. I like to fake the funk with victoria secrets hair oil serum to make it look shiny. LOL.Good luck girl.Curly Hair Help?

What are good de-frizz drugstore products and would a diffuser make the hair at the top of my head curl?

Any answers a appreciated!Curly Hair Help?
try getting a blowdryer with a diffuser. Use a product made for curly hair. Hang your head upside down using the diffuser and blow dry your hair til nearly dry. Using a lightweight hairspray, Pick up the hair at the top of the head and spray it to give it volume.

straighten it is wat damages itCurly Hair Help??
I have very curly hair and it definitely depends on your hair type, so experimenting with it is essential-- it took me years to figure out how to deal with my hair.

Having said that, this is what I do (just as an idea of my hair type, my yahoo icon is pretty much accurate as a cartoon version of my hair)

I wash my hair at night. You can do it in the morning, too, I just don't like to because you should not blow dry curly hair! If you must, use a diffuser. I use very little shampoo, and I don't always use it at all. Experiment, some people say this does wonders for their hair, some don't like it. But shampoo, in general, just dries out hair, and a really important part of having manageable hair is moisturizing it.

I leave in my conditioner for as long as I can, I generally put it in first and then rinse it out at the end of my shower. Then I dry my hair with a t shirt (towels seem to separate ringlets because they are rough) by squeezing the water out, not by rubbing.

After that I put in leave in conditioner, then curl cream and go to sleep on it really wet, with it spread around my head on the pillow. I've been told that it's good to get a silk pillowcase because a rougher textured pillowcase can also separate ringlets.

In the morning when I get up I sometimes put gel on it on top of everything else. I use lots of products... this is not necessarily a good idea, but that's what I do.

I hope some of that works for you!

try the book ';curly girl'; it's got a lot of ideas and tips, you can try things and see what works for you, as well as be inspired by all the beautiful pics of curly hair.
Go to Sally Beauty SHOP. They Have some good products for your hair.
I have the same problem, and I'm working on it. I'll tell you when I get a solution :D

But for now, when you wash your hair put a tiny bit of shampoo in but put a lot of conditioner in, and rinse your hair with cold water at the end of washing your hair. It helps quite a bit! But yeah, I'm working on it! ;)
get a perm and have them cut it(ends)

if your hair is really as wild as it sounds then it will grow back super fast if you don't like it permed
first use the good shampoo then dry and comb your hair nicly than straight them with a good straitghner i am sure it will work for you because my hair are almost like your hair it will work for you have a nice day.
    wanna know why its damaged?

    1. your straightening your hair. It's okay if you do it once in a while

    2. You put gel in it. I used to put gel and it DESTORYED my hair. stop using it.

    3. same thing with hairspray. those things damage ur hair and cause it to fall out.

what you can use is leave in conditioner

    use ALOT!

and like pat down ur hair when you apply it.

    thats what i do

    and i loveeee my hair.
i too would suggest CurlyGirl it is AMAZiNG....and i've gotten my hair cut up at the Devachan salon in NewYork it did wonders for my hair!! the book is great! even though the cover looks a little cheesy...http://www.amazon.com/Curly-Girl-Lorraine-Massey/dp/0761123008

PS i used to want to chemically straighten my hair as well...but have always backed out....after they straighten it....it'll start to grow out...so say you'll have like 2inches of the non-treated hair and it'll look really weird....
I feel your pain! Having this type of hair is definately a pain in the neck, but i finally have it down to a science. I do warn you it's time consuming. I use straightening shampoo and conditioner, i first blow dry it out then flat iron it completely straight you cant even tell how frizzy and curly my hair is

OMG MY HAIR IS THE SAME!!

Over the summer, I discovered a way to resolve my problem.

After you come out of the shower, towel-dry your hair lightly. Make it a little bit more wetter than damp. Then take your fingers and start ';srunching'; your hair. Since you have curly hair, it will reform your curls quicker. Then add in gel. I use Pantene curling gel. Put a dab on and run it through your fingers, now with it on your hands ';srunch the curls';. It will bring out your natural curls, not fake ones, and they won't frizz out.

That's what I do, and it works out very well. Trusts me, because I do this every morning.
pantene for curly hair..then use hair clue by l.a. looks
    leave in conditioner
you could try a leave in conditioner.
    Use Sunsilk Anti-Frizz %26amp; Anti-Poof

Buy a very good hair straightner (it may be pricey but it's better for your hair)

ok i have super curly natural hair.... which sucks mainly cus i cant do much with it... i was wondering if relaxing it would help any at all and if you knew any products that might help.... yes i have a straightner but no matter how long or how much i straighten it, it doesnt stay straight... if straight hair is what you are looking for then yes a relaxer would help
I wouldn't actually get it relaxed. You'll probably hate it when it starts to grow out. I have naturally curly hair too and I feel your pain. I have a salon style hair drier, the kind you sit in with the dome over your head, after I apply product to my hair I sit under there. If I use curlers I get big soft loose curls. You can buy a table top version of the kind of hair drier I use. I got mine from my grandma when she was buying new equipment for her shop.

    Curly hair help?

i have very thick and curly hair. it's because i am Latina. my hair is long-ish and i don't know how to style it. i am getting it cute next Sunday and the hairdresser is spanish and she knows my mom. my mom is Latina. anyways, how should i ask for it to be cut? will the hairdresser know how to cute it? i want it shorter so i can easily straighten it or blow dry it sometimes. also i wanna leave it down sometimes w/ out it getting like crazy Scary Spice hair. can you help me please?Curly hair help?
add some layers into your hair and use frizz free products specially when leaving it curly, it'll stop your hair from going boofy. i have curly hair too. you can also use mouse for curly hair.Curly hair help?
i have curly hair too , and i had it long until i wanted to try the short hair thing. I guess i thought it would make it easier to maintain, but i was wrong. It got harder because my curls would go all over the place and i had to straiten it even if i didn't want to, so i guess i would advice not to cut it too short it doesn't go with curly hair but do think about getting layers!
keep it long! i have curly hair too and i cut it once... it was a disaster.

    Curly hair help?

    Should I get layers?

would growing my hair long help curls dry tight?

and with straightening i noticed when having hair 1 length it's boofy and when having layers in straightens silky like real natural straight hair...anyone else notice this

I NEED HAIR HELP!Curly hair help?
Ok... where to begin. First, although growing your hair out will not make your curls tight it can often help keep down the ';poof'; and give your hair a softer look. One trick you can try is, with wet hair, twist small sections of hair around your finger until you have twisted all of your hair in little ringlets, then either diffuse your hair (without scrunching with your hands, this creates frizz) or just let it dry. Layers can help when you straighten it, that is correct. However, they can also give your curls a boost. Keep in mind that the hair at the bottom (your hairline or nape) often curls tighter and the hair at your crown tends to be straighter. Adding layers can take weight off of the hair on the top which will help the curls tighten up. Also, try products geared toward curly Hair. Try products that promote moisture without being heavy or greasy and look for organic ingredients whenever possible.Curly hair help?
Short layers just made it bushy, leaving me obligated everyday to either straighten it, or ADD curl. Couldn't do the only good thing about my stupid curly hair -when all is lost..run out the door. LONG layers were much better. But my hair is 3/4 down my back, Sure that makes a diff. They don't dry tight because of the weight, but I still find it more manageable.

Curious about the stylist above saying (if I didn't get it wrong) that you should not use you hand when you use the defuser.

I was always taught to scrunch, scrunch, OVER the defuser.

    Wrong?

    I NEED HELP TOO!
yes %26amp; yes. i got layers and thats exactly what i got :]
Well im a Stylist and have curly hair to so let me tell you if u grow you hair out long it just puts more weight in the curl, so if you want a cute springy curl u need to go short! the shorter the less weight. Get your stylist to thin out ur hair some cause it kinda sounds like you have thick hair. But DONT let her use a razor cause its the worst for curly hair, it just make them more frizzy! but if you wanted to wear it straight all the time then yes go with layers! Cause i like my hair really straight when i go straight. but if you wont to grow out still leave it long with a little layers not many cause it will look like a poof ball! lol hope i helped!!

    Curly hair help??

so i have very curly hair do you have any tips that really work on how to help the frizz go away.. and also styling tips for school!! plzzz answer i need help it get really frizzyCurly hair help??
Hi, I too have curly hair and it is very frizzy also...The only thing that I have found that really helps is using hair gel, mousse and hairspray. I love the Curl Life by Matrix. It works really good. I have come to realize that I have to use more product than normal, but it helps me...Hope this helps...Curly hair help??
I also have very curly and frizzy hair I can't stand it.Well what I would do is Get certain shampoos and conditioners designed for your kind of hair and you can also straighten it!YOu can get straightners that will help frizz go away I have one it is called Infinati by conair! You can also get a new hair cut or hair style because I have done that and it helped but I would not get it layered because I have done that and it was really hard to style! Hope this helped.
there are shampoos and conditioners for that. and then stuff that you can put in your hair so that when you blow dry it, it will be straight,
i like the john frieda extra strength serum. it helps with frizz. but if you want to go straight than i reccomend getting your hair chemically straightened at a salon and investing in a good flat iron. i reccomend the paul mitchell one. it's amazing. otherwise you could ask a stylist for ideas.
There are many shampoos out which help straighten, and also try using a straightening elixer on your hair after you shampoo.

I use d- curl straightening balm.

    made by mop.
Ok well I have a cousin like you and she used to have the same problem.....She told me that she just started using different kinds of hair prosucts that are supposed to help woth frizz until she found the right one.........I can't tell you a specific one for yourself b/c everyones hair is different but what I use to help with my frizz is Aussie scrunch hairspray and then some of Herbal Essences gels. I hope you find what you need to help you!!! Also in the shower I startes using Pantene for frizz and noticed a huge difference.
GHD straighteners and hot straight cream by Loreal, even the hot straight is better on its own than nothing and will help stop the frizz.....john frieda is also a really effective brand of serum that they sell in superdrug/boots for hair it really does work, just dont put too much on!!
Lot of other people already gave more permanent solutions, especially if you want to get straight hair, so I will focus on

more everyday solutions for if you keep your hair curly.

Never use brushes -- they frizz your hair up. Use wide tooth comb to detangle.

ALWAYS condition when you shampoo, staying away from your roots (roots are oily enough as is) People with wavy or curly hair tend to have drier hair, so look for a moisturizing formula. Conditioning properly will give your hair a more healthy look and decrease the frizz.

Ditto on the anti-frizz serums. John Frieda was already mentioned. Aveda is a great salon brand. These days, many more grocery store haircare lines make stuff for curly hair. Check out serums from Garnier (green bottles) and Sunsilk or that Clairol line (Cant remember name).

    Good luck!

I have curly hair, but for the most part i think it is pretty manageable. What I do is after washing my hair with the Dove 2-in-1 moisturizing shampoo and conditioner I put Garnier Fructis sleek and shine hair serum in it. if you want your hair really curly you might want to scrunch your hair.
try any kind of hair serum
i also have verry curly frizzy hair one thing u can do is get TREsemme hair gel i have it and it works great , another thing u could do is consider straightening your hair that what i do and if ur worried about recking your hair use heat protectent spray it workks ( %26amp; a great hair straightener is infinity by conair i love it that and pantene always smooth shampoo and conditioner )
hey well i have hair like you what i do to get the frizz to go is straighten it.

    Curly Hair!! Help?

I am not black but my hair is soooooo curly and frizzy! i found out that is i put huge blobs of conditioner on it each day and leave it there it looks great but i use at least 1 or 2 bottles every week!!! my mom wont buy me that much so is there anything that will work just as well but i wont need to use so much of it???? it wont even straiten it is soooo curly! ugh if you have curly hair please write and tell me what you do!!!! p.s if you have curly hair like mine i suggest doing the conditioner thing and not washing it out!Curly Hair!! Help?
Ok. My hair is sooo curly and and so unimaginably frizzy it would shock you. But, it only gets this way when i put nothing in it. Listen, what you need to do is use that Garnier Fructis products. It's very economical. Use the shampoo, conditioner, and gel. If you want you can also get the hairspray. Also use that Sauve mousse for your hair(it should be in a green can). For the gel get the bottle that says Super Stiff.(intense structure and hold) Inside a bluish purplish bold it should say Ultra Strong. Don't worry it won't make you hair feel like a freakin' rock. People will start to envy your hair TRUST ME !! After you put on the gel (make sure you got it EVERYWHERE or else it won't look good), put some

of that Sauve mousse on. This will help a lot.You can flip your hair back and forth about two times. Then put hairspray on it, make sure you get the inside of your hair too. But remember the hairspray is optional. Your hair will look beautiful. Good luck to you.Curly Hair!! Help?
Ojon products work for me, try the restorative hair treatment as a deep conditioner, it's expensive but you don't have to use as much (they sell it at sephora). Also as far as straightening goes, rollers do the least amount of damage, lasts longer and looks much better, unfortunately it also takes the longest to do, but I think the end result is well worth the time. When you get hair products, try to go for products that are specifically for curly hair, and check to see if the product contains alcohol, if it does, avoid it, alcohol dries all kinds of hair and since curly hair tends to be on the dry side anyway, it'll just make it worse.
i have somewhat out of control hair and what i do is, after i shower i wrap my hair in a towel and leave it like that as i get dressed (about 5 minutes.) Then when i take the towel off my hair is curly but not crazy and out of control. Then i put in some leave in conditioner. The good part is you only have to use a quarter-sized blob of the stuff :)
the best thing that worked for my hair was rave Muse and rave hair spray, after you get out the shower towel try your hair, then add lots of muse and then flip your hair up side down, another word bend over so you hair can hang down and spay it with lots of hair spray.....trust me it woks really good and it's cheep 2 dollars a bottle.

I wish I would have known sooner because i have always hated my hair now I always get complements and I have Learn to love my hair, because you just don't know how many ppl wish they had curly hair. They pay tons of money to get it done curly. I think that we are lucky. that's what ppl call natural beauty.
I have curly hair too! I gave up on trying to straighten it years ago. I started using the product S Lustre No Drip activator, moisturizer. It is found with the black hair care products. It is in a blue and white spray bottle. Go easy though, too much is greasy.
    I would just straighten it.
i would go to a professinal stylist and get it chemically straightened. thats what i do. good luck

    Curly Hair Help!!?

I have naturally curly hair and I was wondering if you guys had some tips or styles. I don't want my hair to short. It's just to my shoulders right now. But if you had some ideas. Please tell me!!Curly Hair Help!!?
I have curly hair also, and the best style is to get it in layers. Layers gives your hair more shape. I use mousse, gel, and hairspray and this protects against frizzies. My favorite hair product is Tresemme. Here are some websites. One is a website on curly hairstyles and the other is a tresemme site.Curly Hair Help!!?
Get a hair CHI it is a hair straightiner it works like a champ! But they r really expensive so ask someone for christmas or go on ebay!
    let it grow out.

then use some mouse on it and scrunch it...
You should try going to the salon and ask what type of hair style you want get straigh hair if you want they'll make it great because i got my hair done at regis hairstyles and it was cheap but took forever. get it layered around you head it will look cute or so.
i think just long enough to cover your neck is perfect and please do not try to straighyen it or color it be natural and neat,
YES!! I love this hairdo-I have curly hair- Just take little portions of hair and twist them till they bunch to your head and pin them there. You will have adorable little curls all over your head! It is called a (bird's nest) hairdo and it is for straight hair but I did it one day and after the effects of my straightener wore off I had little curls, everyone told me it was gorgeous.
I have naturally curly hair also. My favorite product is John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum. It works so good. I also use SunSilk Anti-Poof 24/7 Cream. Then, I use FX Curling Gel (Its yellow and you can get it at walmart) or Avon Curl and Wave defining gel. It works really good, is only $5, and you don't need much. And then I spray with Tresemme Extra Hold hairspray. Also, don't mess with your hair too much or scrunch too much because that will make it frizzy.

If you are looking to get your hair cut, go to someplace good. Not someplace cheap like super cuts. Ask them for long layers that are good for curly hair.

Well good luck with your hair!

    plz helpp.Curly hair help!?!?
grow your hair out then cut it into 2 long layers. the weight of your long hair will make your hair less puffy. I tried thinning once and it ended up to be a mess. You can also braid it at night with gel in it then loose it out in the morningsCurly hair help!?!?
You may need to get it thinned out. It comes at a cost though to get it done good. they cut some of the hair beneith the top layer. i get it done every few months(its unnoticeable) and i also straiten my hair.

    could you believe it..%26gt;%26gt; http://i37.tinypic.com/2qdmr2q.jpg

or try straitening it mabye ??

    Curly hair help????????

My hair is wildly curly and i have to use massive amounts of mousse and hairspray to tame it. However, this causes my hair to be crunchy as my friends call it. I need to know how i can make my hair look good, without it being crunchy or straightening it. Thanks!Curly hair help????????
next time you get it cut ask them to texturize it. it wont be so puffy. redken makes products that are great for curly hair. you can also use bobby pins to hold me back cut ways also.Curly hair help????????
    Try different products.

First, figure out what your hair type is here http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types then you can decide which product is best for your curl type.

Check out http://www.naturallycurly.com for lots of great info about curly, wavy, kinky and textured hair!
The key 2 keeping your curls looking pretty without it being crunchy is 2 not use the globs of mouse. Um I use curls rock %26amp; I love it. I also use redken product %26amp; love them. But try not 2 use hella product in your hair cause less is always more, %26amp; when u blowdry do it on low %26amp; it helps it if you push your fingers up onto...lol I know it's a lot but I hope it helped :)
try using phyto relaxing balm...or stop using hairspray which is probably what's making your hair crunchy..
Well, mousse is definitely the best friend of curly hair. It defines the curls and reduces frizz. Just find one that doesn't make your hair crunchy! I've heard that the hair product ';Wen'; works well with curly hair also but I haven't been able to try it because of the price. Hope this helped!

    !!!!!!!!!!!!Curly Hair HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!?

    http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n102/

I have natural curly hair, thats blonde and about 1-1 1/2 inches past my shoulders and i want to cut it.

I like the girls hair in figure 1 BUT i dont want it to get poofy in figure 2. Am i able to cut my hair short without it getting poofy at the bottom and flat at the top???!!!!!!!!!!!!Curly Hair HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Yes! But you do have to be careful. You want to have longer layers with your new shorter do. What I mean is, layers that set about 2 inches above the length or perimeter. Maybe some texturizing as well depending on how thick your hair is. Any more than that your layers may poof up and lay too spread out. Any less, you may look like a pyramid. Just make sure your stylist understands this situation...Do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!Curly Hair HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!?
You can cut your hair without it getting poofy/flat. Your long heavy hair is what is making it flat on top. Once you cut some of your hair, it becomes lighter,so no flat top. I also have thick curly blonde hair. Use hair products for curls. Keep your hair moisturized and you should be okay! Good Luck
There's a variety of products you can use to keep the frizz out of it. To keep it from being big on the bottom and flat at the top, you may want to ask your stylist for some layers or graduation. This will take weight out of the bottom and the shorter hair will help push the longer hair 'up' giving it more body up top
Try products from Ouidad. They are a company who only makes products for curly hair. if you sign up on their website you get a monthly newsletter free that gives tips on styling and keeping your curly hair healthy. they even have a book ut to help.
you can cut your hair but you have to use onfusion and mousse to tame your hair
yes... just be sure to use products that are specialized for your hair type. ANd use cremes on your hair because it nurtures the curl and makes it look better than other products.

Use a frizz ease serum to prevent frizz
Yes you can. Make sure you use a leave in conditioner and anti frizz serum. I recommend one by Phtyo which you can purchase from sephora. If you will be in extreme heat you may want to lightly dab a bit of almond or olive oil onto your hair as well. I will leave this link open so that you can see the results.

    Curly Hair Help!?

I have grown to notice that I have a lot of natural curl in my hair from getting out of the shower. Although its not straight small ringlits, it will get big and frezzy and curly if I do no treat it well. I have tried several scrunch products to get me more contained curls but they either give me crunchy curls, which I don't like, or the hold falls off quickly. Is there any product recommendation, advice, shampoos? To get my curly hair into contained, not try, and use my curls to my advantageCurly Hair Help!?
I had the same problem, mine was really poofy on the ends. I use a product called Curly Frizz Pudding, which works wonders for me, and leaves my hair really soft. You can go to this site: www.blendedbeauty.com. There are also tips on how to handle unruly curly hair and ';tame the mane';, as well as finding products formulated for your hair type.

Its a little expensive ($14.50), but a little goes a long way, and they even have a sample section, so you can try it out and see if it works for you before you buy the full size.

    Good luck!Curly Hair Help!?
I recommend anything cream- based (you know, that white stuff)- no wax or silicon- that kills it, it's sticky and just plain evil! You could probably use mooses or gels, but they harden the curls. To solve that you just need to uncrunch your curls, after they are dry, by gently squeezing big porsions of your hair with your hands (you will here a crunchy sound and they will become soft). Also, I would recommend the following steps, when using any product (preferably cream):

    1. wet your hair.

    2. dry it by wrapping a towel over your head, for a minute or so.

    3. After that it should still be wet, but not dripping. Brush it.

    4. Put on the cream. (don't over do it- if you squeeze your hair from top to bottom and you got crud on your hand, you're over doing it )

    5. Set it like you like it (part it, ponytail it- whatever you like)

    6. Let it air-dry, it takes about an hour and a half to two hours.

If you don't fuss with it, from this point on, it will be perfect.

    Good Luck,

    Tali
Hey! Well, not to brag or anything, but I consider myself an expert on curly hair. :D My hair is very curly, not ringlets or afro curly, but still very very curly. The most important thing is that your hair is moisturized! Curly hair is naturally more dry and prone to getting frizzy. (Sad, I know.) Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, but do NOT shampoo everyday!! Try shampooing 2 or 3 times a week, unless your hair is very oily, then you should shampoo everyday with a gentle shampoo. After you wash your hair, put in a leave in conditioner, then comb your hair with a wide tooth comb, NOT a brush or small toothed comb!!! Brushes have hundreds of tiny bristles that make your curls frizzy, same with small toothed combs. Then scrunch in a gel or mousse. If they get crunchy once they dry, it's very easy to ';scrunch out the crunch';: just scrunch your hair like you did when you were applying the product. Gels are easier to scrunch out though. And I EXTREMELY reccommend this website: www.naturallycurly.com. It's where I learned everything I know!! They also have reviews on a ton of hair products, so you can find out what will work for you, and a great message board. GOOD LUCK!! And embrace your curls!!
