Puffy/curly hair help. PLEASE!?

Okay so i have puffy and curly hair. Not puffy like afro puffy but no curly like corkscrew curly. I can put it down because it would just puff, and flat ironing it would take 4ever. The only hairstyles I ever use are bun and a ponytail and I'm really getting sick of them. Any haircuts or hairstyles I could try? Or maybe I few tips? Any ways i could make it less puffy without flat ironing it? I don't really mind the curliness.Puffy/curly hair help. PLEASE!?
Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. A great tool for finding curly stylists in your area: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

*Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels on hair; use linen, paper towels, or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

*Once completely dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

For hair type specific products check out these forums:

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. I would recommend something, but I don鈥檛 know your hair type. :)

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. I have a few different methods that you might want to try, and see if they work for you.

-After showing, immediately put some hair serum (silicone based: it's usually clear) which helps lock in reduce moisture and reduce frizz. Frizz and puffiness can equate to the same thing.

-Instead of towel drying, try dabbing (not rubbing hair) with a cotton t-shirt to reduce frizz, and then letting it air dry.

-I love Sunsilk curl defining cream. It's very affordable ($3-4), can be put in on wet or dry hair to rejuvenate curls. It comes in a green bottle, if that helps.

-You can also try a hot oil treatment every month. You can buy the little tubes at most stores. It's a treatment that hydrates your hair. Keep it in for 3-5 minutes, then wash-out. It puts a new bounce into curls, and does wonders for keeping them hydrated.

-If you find yourself having simply too much volume, you can pin up the top layer of your hair, and do a quick straighten (with a flat iron) of the lower layer. Let down the hair; sometimes a quick flat iron can take away (in the case of curly-girls), undesired volume. However, for more volume on top, turn head upside down and gently massage hair roots, or try changing your part to the other side.

Good luck! I hope this helps.
you should scrunch it after showering put gel and mouse on and scrunch it up, it will look really pretty after drying up :) have fun!
Have you ever thought about a relaxer? That will lay it down for sure!!
