My hair doesn't seem dry when its curly, its nice and soft. But whenever I straighten it, it looks really dry. So I'm guessing that it is?
So I'm looking for a shampoo %26amp; conditioner I can use that will add moisture back. I would really prefer drugstore brands, but I'll take salon brands too.
Plus, I'm looking for products to use before straightening my hair. I think I also need some better heat protectants than the one I'm using now.
I really hope to get a lot of answers this time.
Thanks in advance!Curly hair help por favor?
most damage control shampoos work, or look for shampoos for damaged hair.
right now im using loreal vive pro hydragloss moisturizing shampoo (for damaged/dry hair). its the yellow bottle. the pink bottle is also really good-for damaged hair once again XD. my favorite is loreal vive pro brand. it focuses on hair damage more than smells (like herbal essences. although i like it, all of them seem to work the same) ive recommended vive to ppl b4 and they all really like it.
i hate pantene too =]
my favorite heat product is got2b guardian angel protect 'n flatten. it smoothes ur hair and it feels healthy =]Curly hair help por favor?
Neutrogena triple moisture deep conditioner is good. If you have the time, use a plastic cap and a blow dryer for extra conditoning. (hand held is fine)
If you are flat ironing, make sure it is ceramic. This is less damaging.
Heat protectants

As far as salon brands of shampoo/cond nexxus/aveda is good.
Check out www.naturallycurly.com for tips as well..
Hope that helped!
after you straighten one of your strands, put more heat protectant and just leave it like that. it should stay shiny after you do it. so, basicly, this is the order. add heat protectant, straighten, then add more heat protectant. and, that's it. thats wat i do! hope this helps! :3
paul mitchel sleek and shine serum, garnier fructis sleek and shine serum lol... same issue here. ppl compliment my hair now...
Since your straightening, your hair is most likely damaged and dry. You need to get moisture back and make it healthy again, but this isn't going to happen while your still straightening. Instead of straightening every day maybe cut back to two to three times a week? This will not eliminate all damage but it will save your hair from frying completely.
If you're thinking of not flat-ironing anymore, look around the websites below that I linked. These will get you started in taking care of your curls properly and getting them healthy and hydrated again.
Before straightening, try using a leave-in conditioner. This will keep your hair soft and hydrated through the day. Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave-In has always worked very well for me, and it has a delicious scent. (: For a heat protectant, look for the Tresseme one. I'm not sure of its exact name, but you should be able to find it anywhere. Just look in the Tresseme section. As for a conditioner, try L'Oreal Paris Vive Pro Nutrigloss Conditioner for Curly Hair that's Medium-Long. Very good conditioner and contains some protein, which will help restore the damage in your hair. It's not going to do a lot because there isn't that much of it in this conditioner, so I would suggest using a protein treatment weekly followed up by a deep conditioner. Protein is the only thing that can actually ';heal'; damaged hair. On all of the sites below, especially naturallycurly, you should be able to find recipes for protein treatments or find protein treatments you can buy at the store.
