I have really crazy curly hair!! Help?

Okay, I have really crazy knotted hair. Im mixed, black, white, puertorican and italian. The only time I can wear it down is when I straighten it. But the downside to that is that it takes me about 2 and a half hours.

Can anyone tell me a way that would make straightening my hair easier and a way that I could wear my hair down so that it looks more wavy than straight? Suggest hair gels, shampoos, conditioners, hair sprays or anything else.

thankx in advanced

:]I have really crazy curly hair!! Help?
i have thick curlyful hair too! :)

this is what i do to control my crazyness :)

i wash my hair with the Panteen shampoo for curly hair and the same conditioner also. i rinse my hair with cold water when im done shampooing/conditioning, which locks the hair cuticle to prevent frizz and make it super shiny :). i then spray Johnsons Detangler Spray in my hair and brush it with a wide-tooth comb (dont use one with tiny teeth because it makes your hair have tons of crazy little curls). After that I put some Algio ';Crazy Curl'; balm in my hair, which is amazing! :) (btw sorry i sound kinda corny!) it makes my hair look all beachy and loosens my curls so they arnt as tight. hope i helped, and sorry my answer is so long!I have really crazy curly hair!! Help?
Been dealing with this my whole life. Ive been called poodle, velcro head, afro, anything you can name. I used to straighten my hair with Dark and Lovely, but have found that I can blow dry it just as straight with a round brush. Also, I have a super hot ceramic straightening iron. That works better than anything else, and doesn't fry your hair as bad. None of the styling products help much, using them means I have to wash my sticky hair every day instead of every 3 days.
well, your mix is very different. im salvadorian and italian, and i bought a straightener that works very well, and what is great is that the company i bought it from will style my hair for me if i call in advance (this is for a year only though)

also, every think about getting it permanently straightened? it costs a lot, but it will be more manageable when you straighten it.

when i keep my hair curly, i put this aussie max. hold gel, and it works very well.

sorry, im guessing our hair types are different, but i hope this helps
a brand that i find works really well for my curly hair is cutler straightening and styling cream. after washing your hair run the cream through your hair and then blow dry it straight.

hope that helps :)
well they always have perminate straighten that last a couple months if you wanted to do that
