CURLY HAIR HELP: perm or not?

when i was little, i had blonde pin straight hair. now for

some reason my hair is very curly and dark brown- naturally

the curls in my hair are uneven, some make tight ringlets,

and others are just wavy. i always find myself curling some of the

strands to make then blend in with my naturally curly hair.

im not sure what to do, should i get a perm, it is such a hastle

curling the non-curly strands each day.

would a perm make my curly hair- even more curly

and my wavy strands- curlier

i have the same problem as well, but my hair is more curly then wavy. i recommend not getting a perm because is damages your hair and could even dry your hair out.CURLY HAIR HELP: perm or not?

In my opinion you shouldn't get a perm...the far away you stay from chemicals the better for your hair.

For your hair to seem even all throughout there are a couple of products and things you can do.

1. After you are done washing your hair put in some leave in conditioner or something to make your hair nice and soft...i use Pantene Pro-V Smoothing Lisser. before putting it in comb your hair through into 2 sections.

I make two sections of hair as if i were to make pony tails and rub a dime sized amount into both sections.

After i put in the lisser stuff i come my hair with a comb again to get rid of all tangles.

2. I use Pantene Pro-V CURLS gel. I keep the 2 sections as well and use a verrry little amount for both sections. Then i scruch my hair so that the curls take their shape. i scrunch both sides for a little bit for the product to settle in then i comb through them again so that my hair is tangle free and i re-scruch it so i have the curls.

Once my hair is dry the curls all look natural and they are even throughout.

PS: my hair is just like yours, but very curly thoroughout.

also if you were to get a perm you might regret it later b/c it would be much harder to straighten your hair.

I hope this helps.

Ahhh don't get a perm it will just make your hair super puffy. It will give you a mini afro. Just get one of those flat irons like the CHI and curl the little wavy ones to make them match. Or just flat iron all of your hair. You could even just put all of your hair in those little curlers before bed and then all of your curls would match. Good luck!

:)
hello,

I have had a perm, and i think only get a perm if you feel it is the last possible option. As the initial cost, the maintaince and the overall look of a perm is extremely irritating. I have had a perm, and i disliked the look it gave me, however this is a personal opinion.

I think curling your own hair can provide a lot more options and variety, such as large soft curls or tight curls, and with a perm you loose this variety.

I have wavy hair with a few curls, and i simply brush hair through, apply serum and twist around my fingers at the end of my hair to let you hair remain wavy but with a little curl at the end. The actual curls will stay in there place and makes the wavy hair have a little curl and definition. If you do this throughout the day like a little twiddle or play with your hair, the curls will stay and will make slightly straighter hair more interesting.

Stick with your natural hair, perming it will only damage the hair which will make it only worse and there is no gurantee you will like and then you will be stuck with it!

put a pretty clip or hair band in to make you wavy hair more versatile if you are fed up with it.. hope this helps!
a perm would actually even it out a bit. my hair was a bit wavy, but stick atraight in some places too, so then i got a perm about 2 months ago. make sure that your hair is long before you get a perm though!

also, if you do get the perm, use a deep conditioning treatment at least twice a week because the chemicals can REALLY dry out your hair!

good luck! hope i helped!
DONT GET A PERM!!!!!

everyone i know who has got a perm, it has turned out horrible.

sorry.
I would recommend a relaxer.

A relaxer would straighten your hair.

After awhile it would fade and your hair would be curly but not as much.

When you get a relaxer you can just wear your hair straight or curl it with a curling iron.
