Curly hair help how to get the shaggy look?

am a guy and i have curly hair, i had it long like up to my neck and i use to wear it with a pony tail. well ok whatever, now i cut it short cuz some of my friends kept on telling me to cut. so to shut them up i did. now i dont know how to style it anymore. its 3inch and a half long, a little long. ok well i saw this curly hairstyle (http://mensfashion.about.com/od/goominghair/ss/CurlyHairstyles_2.htm) and i was wondering, what do i need to make it look shaggy like that? and i think my hair is long to get that look.





oh and also, how long does hair grow in a month? just in case this doesnt work out and want to grow it back again. plz helpCurly hair help how to get the shaggy look?
I agree with the person who answered, use mousse. I love the mousse products from Tresemme.





But becareful. If your curls are really tight, they may not look like that picture. That model has very loose curls, almost wavy hair.
