Up until about three or four years ago, I always kept my hair short. I have been growing it out trying to get it long and looking straight. The only problem is that I have very, VERY thick, curly hair. My hair practically resembles a young Jim Morrison (not a bad thing :D) My hair looks great when I wake up, its flat, straight, and not really frizzy at all. But after I blow dry (shampoo %26amp; cond in shower), it turns to frizz and looks HORRIBLE! I hate having to use my sisters' flat iron because it fry's my hair and it makes it like straw. I have tried product, creams and leave-in stuff and nothing really works.
I'm trying to get longish thick hair (similar 2 Emile Hirsh's Jay Adams in LOD), but I'm afraid that my layers will look bad. Right now its just all over the place. My sister says that my hair will still look like a mushroom on the sides if I get it chemically straightened. Will it still retain its thickness? Will it ever get curly again or is this permanent?? Help appreciat'dChemically straightening thick, naturally curly hair!! HELP!?
i would not suggest chemically straightening to anyone. i once straighted my hair that way, and it just made my hair dry and much more poofy. several other people had the same reaction. i would suggest using a flat iron or trying a new style (thats what i had to do, and i'm glad i did it too.) but whatever you decide to do- SEE A PROFESSIONAL. don't use the cheapo kits and wal mart or something, even worse results will come through that, truuuuust me.Chemically straightening thick, naturally curly hair!! HELP!?
it depends on your hair was it born that way or just happened tell me or i dont know
Well, I would not advise it. I have a friend who had her hair chemically straightened. It just made her hair worse.... now everyday she wears it up and it is really poofy and stiff. But if you want to go ahead and try it then go for it. Remember everyone hair is different. I, personally, am going to try japanese straightening. :) good luck.
