3. They make products to protect your hair against heat. I use ion. in a maroon and baige bottle. It protects your hair from hair straightener heat and is also an anti-friz solution.

Directions:

1. Brush out your curls and divide them into a few sections

2. Spray the first section with ion. Hold it a few inches away from hair and make sure it isnt too thick or your hair will get greasy.

3. Straighten the section you ahve just sprayed.

(Repeat 2 and 3 until all hair is straight)

if you want to straighten it without a straightener then you can towel dry it til its damp and then use a round brush and blowdry it straight. or you could try some straightening products like BedHead control freak. its supposed to straighten your hair, i use it and it works a little bit, but i have wavy hair. Also, there is Aussie shampoo called ';Straight to Perfection'; and that helps a bit too.
You're going to need to use a blow dryer, or a straightener. But since you don't want to damage your hair, I'd use a leave-in conditioner to minimize damage.

With a straightener, I put my hair into different layers, and straighten one inch strands at a time. I also use this stuff, by Herbal Essences, called Dangerously Straight. It helps a lot.

With a blow dryer, you need to go at it immediately, before you hair begins to curl at all. Then with a roller brush, pull your hair straight, blow-dry that strand. Pull another strand straight, blow dry that strand. Go on like that for you whole head. If some hair starts to curl before you get to it, run a wet comb through it. This won't make it as straight as a flat iron would, but it will get it to be not curly, if you can do it fast enough.
