I REALLY appreciate it :)Wavy/curly hair help!! :)?
If you want to run out and pick something up locally, I recommend trying LA Looks or Herbal essences gels (drugstore); Biotera gel and cream (Sally's Beauty Supply); Suave Naturals/vo5 conditioners (really cheap); Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Condish (semi-cheap but super moisturizing, found at organics/specialty stores); red Cream of Nature shampoo (drugstore again); and L'oreal out of bed weightless texturizer (black tub, use under gel). These are all good things to try, and be sure to tinker around with amounts and how you use any products.

For specific products for your hair type you might also want to explore the forums at:

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products.

Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find ratings by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

*Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Never use a brush on dry hair, only untangle when the hair is wet.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

*Once dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. I have Natural wavy thick frizzy hair to.

the best way to curl your hair without a curling iron, is mouseee heres how you do it

1.wet your hair a little(just wet your hands and slide your hands on your hair)

2.put mousse in your hair.about half a hand full or if you think you might need more go a head but not to much.

3.start spreading the mousse all over your hair

4.get a towel put it on your back.

5.bend over

6.run your fingers through your hair in a wavy pattern

7keep bending over and then coming back up kindof like your swoshing your hair back and forwad but wit a little more force.

8.do that about 5 times.

9.wait...

10.your hair should be curly, but the mousse makes your hair hard.

just remember its more of a summer look
I have a very similar type of hair, only it is not very long (just below my shoulders). Knowing a good product is good, but shampoo and conditioner are the most important things to use to keep your hair shiny and frizz-free. I use the herbal essences hydrating shampoo and conditioner, because curly hair is the dryest. I also deep condition every once in a while and put a leave in conditioner in my hair after I towel dry it. As far as product, Tressemme has some nice gels that hold curl well and don't make your hair crunchy. Prettu much any salon brands will work well, but they can get pretty expensive. Don't use mousse, it will make your thick hair have even more volume. I think tresemme gels and creams are the best product for the money, and they really help tame curls and waves.

redken

i also have long thick frizzy curly hair i have used redken now for over a year and it wokrs wonders

note products like redken are more expensive then suave moose

a redken moose might go for 9 dollars to the moose that you get for a dollar along with gel but u will use 6 or 7 times the amount and get not as good results i can wash my hair put product in my hair dime sized amounts and the next day use a spray bottle wet my hair and still have product in it that will last.

if you go to that site it will tell you what products you should use
i have very curly hair as well and i use a mousse on it. My brand that i use is pantene pro-v it helps in humitity and controls ur frizz and it doesnt make ur hair hard like other brands do. u can buy this in a near-by target or at a salon.

Well i hope ur hair turns out as pretty as u imagine it will be!

Good Luck :)
