Crazy, Dry, Curly hair help?

I have incredibly dry hair, and I don't know why. I try applying hair oil but it just sucks that moisture right up after like an hour! I need a product which stays and helps keep my hair hydrated and removes frizziness. I seriously need help!

What do you use to tame your crazy, curly hair?!

Try olive oil, I too have dry hair and I found that this made my hair much shinier and healthy-looking!!!

Overshampooing and swimming can also cause your hair to be dry!

Wash your hair once every other day or so, and on other days just use conditioner!

I haven't tried it, but I heard that mayo is a really good deep conditioner and you can let it sit in your hair and rinse it out anywhere from 5 minutes to and hour

Getting a regular trim to get rid of dead split ends can also help to make your hair healthier. Go to get a trim every 2-3 months!

And last but not least, dry hair can be evidence of a poor diet! Eat healthy and drink LOTS of water!! You might want to consider a vitamin supplement for healthy hair and nails from GncCrazy, Dry, Curly hair help?
Redken makes a couple of good products. While your hair is still damp, use the Redken product called ringlet 07. Then either diffuse or air dry your hair. Then scrunch your curls with another Redken product called glass 01. That will help with the frizzes. There are a lot of products on the store shelves claiming to make your curls curly and defrizz your hair. I have found salon products usually work best.

Hope this helps!! :)
my hair used to be quite curly, fizzy, and dry but what has been working quite well for me lately is head and shoulders 2 'in 1 shampoo and conditioner!.....its tames your hair as there is less volume added wit the separate washes!
hey,

Grab some good hair repair shampoo. DONT USE OIL!! You already have natural oils in your scalp and hair, taking care of them is the only significant way to help.

Shower every day, but wash your hair every other day. Condition it every 3 days, and use a leave in conditioner every week and a half, or so. Leaving in the conditioner overnight (wrap a towel around your pillow, I do) will amplify the moisture being drawn into your head, and leave it astronomically soft.

That can solve a big portion of the issue, but only temporarily.

You may have to splurge and buy a heat-resistant serum. It's a bit like an oil, but you need VERY little, and apply it to an already dry head. So when you use a flat-iron or anything, the direct heat won't fry the hair.

Towel dry your hair, COMB it out, and towel dry again. Let it airdry at the very least from the crown and up, so you only use the dryer for the lengthier pieces, and for not as long. When you brush your hair, make a point to run the brush from your scalp and down, to let the oil from your body integrate with the hair strands. Taking care of the upper part of your hair now will be a godsend later when your hair grows out, because all the yucky stuff will be cut off, but the strands you're taking extra care of will grow out much nicer. Oh, and if you can, use paper towels to dry your hair. They don't grab at your hair and pull, they absorb the excess water.

I suggest grabbing a pair of special scissors from walmart (the cosmetic section) and trimming the ends of your hair yourself. It's not scary, and if anything its fun. You don't have to be dramatic about it, just tilt the points towards the ceiling so you aren't cutting ===== this way, and you're just going ^, so the scissors are grabbing the out of place strands.

drink a TON of water. Not everyone drinks enough, even if you think you do. Women especially have an issue with iron and hydration every month (period), and hydration not only helps get the better liquid into your body, but cycles out the natural oils better. Oh, and vitamin E works well, too.

Now, keep in mind that you can do most of this in one shot - but you have to keep up with it. At the end of every week, run the scissors through the ends of your hair, pack water bottles everywhere you go, and indulge in nicer shampoo. The cost may or may not be an issue, but think of it this way; would you spend 3 dollars on a bottle of shampoo that only gets the dirt out and dry your hair because it's cheap, or would you rather buy the 7 dollar bottle to replenish your hair health, give you softer curls, even out the dryness and oils, and even induce growth?
