I have tight curly black hair, and i really want to loosen them without using straightening irons or perms or anything permanent. If i used rollers or things like that, could i loosen teh curls? or would it jus look frizzy and fake? Can i use rollers to loosen my tight curly hair?
Yeah completely. You just need to find a product that has both moisture AND hold. I've heard good things about
1. Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercreme.
2. Hair Rules products
3. Cantu Shea Butter
4. Kinky Curly Curling Custard (KCCC)
5. Fantasia IC with sparkle lites
You apply a holding product like the ones above to hair and roll in sections after washing and deep conditioning. Wait until hair is completely dry (to make sure style set) and then then take out rollers. Also hard rollers are best. Sponge ones sap hair of moisture. For the curly look you can also shingle hair. Or do twist and take out the twists for a twist out. Some good websites are below I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Henna also loosens kinks AND it naturally conditions hair. Can i use rollers to loosen my tight curly hair?
I don't think rollers would loosen your curls, that would make your hair look extremely frizzy. You should go to Sallys and ask about products that will loosen the curl of African American hair and they should be able to help. As you know the only way to REALLY loosen the curl without relaxing your hair is to use some heat on your hair.
It will probably work. But try with MIxed Chicks products. Their stuff works really well to control frizz. It will be in Australia soon, but for now buy on the net.
