How do i make my curls less frizzy and bushy and define them?Control curly hair ????
First I would say to use products that don't contain alcohol for the most part. Curly hair is mostly frizzy when it is dry, so I would suggest you invest in deep conditioners and leave in conditioners. Depending on how much oil your scalp produces, there are a few things you can do.
1) When you wash your hair, only wash the roots, don't put shampoo on the ends because it's only going to dry them out even more. Don't worry, your hair will still be clean because when you rinse out the shampoo, it will clean the ends of your hair.
2) Don't comb or brush your hair when it is dry! This will damage your curls and only make your hair look more frizzy! Style your hair when it is wet or damp. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to wash your hair everyday (which will also make it very dry depending on how much oil your scalp produces), you can buy a small spray bottle and dampen your hair with water so that you can style it.
3) Limit washing your hair as much as possible. Everyone is different so this greatly depends on whether your scalp is very oily, normal, or dry. For very oily hair, you would have to wash your hair more frequently. I would suggest seeing if you can possibly skip a day without your hair being weighed down. If not, then maybe you should shampoo everyday. If your scalp is normal, you can probably get away with washing your hair every other day (like 3-4 times a week). If your scalp tends to be dry or you have little to no oil production, I would suggest using a thicker conditioner as well as a conditioning shampoo (not a clarifying shampoo). You can also use a leave in conditioner under your styling products. If you can't wash your hair often without being dry, but you still want your hair to smell fresh, you can co-wash your hair (meaning you can apply a conditioner, rinse, and style your hair as usual).
Here are some products I've used:
*Dove has a lot of fresh smelling products and they have a really thick conditioner. I normally buy their products in bulk from Sam's.
*Miss Jessie's has a great line of products and all of them are specifically for women with curly hair. I use the curly meringue (it smells like pina colada and makes curls very plump and juicy) and the baby buttercreme (smells really sweet, almost like frosting). They also have a product called quick curls which is the lightest of the line. You can use it if you just want curl definition and you're in a hurry. They have a fantastic deep conditioner that I use once a week called rapid recovery treatment. If you want to intensify it even more, you can leave it in over night (with a cap over your head of course) and rinse it out the next morning. It makes your hair VERY soft. If you have a tighter curl with a lot of shrinkage, you can use their stretch silkening creme, which elongates your curls. I must say though, that this line is not cheap, but if you have the money to spend on a good product, it is well worth it. I haven't found a single product that is better than Miss Jessie's.
*Mixed Chicks makes a great leave-in conditioner that makes my curls very ';oingy-boingy'; and unlike most leave-ins, it doesn't leave any residue.
*Giovanni Organic Hair Care (which you can find in most Target locations) makes pretty good products. I sometimes use their smooth as silk deeper moisture conditioner as well as their direct leave-in conditioner. Their products are great because they're organic and made with vegetable proteins.
*John Frieda has a couple of good products. I sometimes use their frizz-ease hair serum extra strength formula, particularly on the ends of my hair. Though it does make your hair less frizzy, it kind of relaxes the curl a bit. You can use the frizz-ease rehydrate intensive deep conditioner like once a week or every day if you can handle it.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!Control curly hair ????
The way your hair is cut really helps. A stylist who is experienced with curly hair will be able to cut it in a way that best allows for defined curls.
After you get it cut right, never brush it unless it is soaking wet-sometimes it's best just to brush it while in the shower coated with conditioner. When it is still very wet I use a gel mixed with a frizz cream liberally. Twirl large sections around your fingers. Then DO NOT TOUCH IT. Resist the urge to mess with it until it is almost dry, then scrunch it up a bit and use a little spray gel on any spots that are a bit frizzy.
i have naturally curly hair, i use frizz ease shampoo and conditioner and put the frizz ease curl controller gel when i blow dry it, i then put shine spray stuff on it too,
if you're looking for straight hair, you should look into the Japanese Thermal treatment to permanently straighten your hair.
