My niece is half caucasian half black, so she has beautiful curly hair. However, her hair is extremely hard to brush, I feel so horrible when my sister does it because she screams in pain. Her hair gets knotty easily, so I would appreciate any advice on brushing hair so its not painful, any hair treatments or anything that may help!
Thank you in advance.Brushing 2 year old's super curly hair, help!?
You must brush her hair from the tips first, working upwards from the ends of the hair. Most people, other than hairdressers naturally stick the brush at the top of the head or in the middle and attempt to yank the hair down taking any knotts along the way, this is incorrect and most painful. Also, spray some 'leave in' conditioner in first and go for a good quality one.Brushing 2 year old's super curly hair, help!?
Im also mixed so i know What you mean. Although in my case brushing out my hair doesnt hurt, could be a case of tenderheadedness. my little sis does how ever have the same problem, my mom just took her to get a texturerizer, it keeps your hair curly (wavey) and so much easier to comb out. Also depending on what your using to comb out her hair plays a major part, a wide toothed comb holding the hair above the difficult area so not to pull too hard helps. hope i was of some help.
oh yea i hav cousins w/ hair like that so im familiar.
well u could use baby conditioner and detanglers really help.
.It is Best to comb her hair first before u brush it .really helps.
.lorea'l no more tears conditiner and detangler really helps especially for black babies or curly hair.
.and comb it while its still in there.
.also johnson-johnson's baby oil. and hair stuff.
.and combing sections at a time and start combing at the tips of hair and working ur way down reduces lot of pain.
.well thats about all my advice hope u use it nd helps.
well 1st of all, brush frm the bottom.
start with the very ends, then slowly work your way up, working on only a chunk at a time
if your start from the roots like you normally would, all the snarls from all that hair gets right below the brush and it all bunches up to make an even bigger knot
also, i had the same thing when i was little, and my mom would always put my head on her stomach, then brush like unsidedown. idk if it helps, but i remember feeling better to have something to bounce into kind of rather than just air
I feel for the poor little girl, to have such pain when your hair is brushed must be just awful.
I would only comb it when it is wet, right after shampooing, and only after applying a leave-in, spray on de-tangler. Notice I said ';comb'; not ';brush';. A very wide toothed comb is the ONLY thing I'd use on her hair.
Best of luck.
it should be done while its still wet. so maybe once she gets out of the shower/bath you should put a leave in hair conditioner in and then pull it back or stlye the way you want it done for the day. also theres kiddy detanglers you could use to dampen her hair
Use a spray leave in conditioner. Soak her hair in it. Then slowly start coming her hair out. Do not use a brush. Only a pick or comb. Do not tug at her hair. Work out the knots. I think it is Johnson %26amp; Johnson who makes detangler for kids.
